It's been almost exactly two months since we installed the Capitol Vegetable Garden and I am here with an update.  It has changed immensely in the last two months - things have grown very quickly.  In fact, on the days when we are at the garden doing maintenance, the most popular question has become - What did you do to make the plants so big and healthy?  My answer - not much!  Which isn't entirely true, but the answer is surprisingly simple and doesn't contain chemicals.  For many weeks, when we arrived at the garden for our weekly maintenance, I was astounded at

This summer is the second season at the East High Youth Farm.  Last year we started small with a 1/8 acre garden and about a dozen youth.  This year, we doubled our garden size to 1/4 acre and (thankfully) we have more than doubled our farm crew!  Our core crew consists of students from East High and Shabazz, several post college interns, one college student and a great cadre of youth and adult volunteers.  We are also accompanied out on the farm by a group of 20 middle school students who are enrolled in a camp through the Goodman Community Center and join us to work in
