The
Troy Enabling Garden
There
are many people who would love to garden but have difficulty gardening
on the ground. They may be in a wheelchair or just unable to bend over
for a long period of time. Troy Community Gardens has built 6 raised beds,
which make it possible for people with disabilities to enjoy the pleasures
of gardening. Presently, the raised beds are not fully wheelchair accessible
as so are more suitable for people with disabilities who do not require
the use of a wheelchair. Raised beds measuring 4'x8' are available for
free to gardeners with disabilities.

Troy
Gardens is planning the construction of a large
Enabling Garden that will be fully wheelchair accessible. This garden
will feature raised beds of various designs, wall gardens, espaliered
fruit trees, and container gardens. We hope to raise funds to build the
garden within the next few years.
